Health and Saftey Standards
At AQUARIUS we are constantly reviewing the requirements for continuously improving
health and safety, ensuring compliance to travel organisation needs, PADI standards
and travel insurance requirements. Throughout your time with us it is our responsibility
to take care of you at our centre, on our boats, catering and, of course, during
diving.
All our staff receive ongoing training and all our guides, Dive Masters and Instructors
are Emergency First Response trained and are fully conversant with the local support
operations from Doctors to Hyperbaric Chambers.
Medical Statement
Prior to diving, you will be required to complete a PADI Medical Statement form.
If you are in any doubt about your medical status for diving do review this form
before coming over and if needed see you physician for his advise and medical statement
giving you clearance to dive.
However, should you have a medical problem concerning diving we will be happy to
help you consult the local diving physician.
Safety Procedures
Safety, for you, your buddy and us, is of paramount importance. You will be required
to assure us that you will follow the PADI and local safety procedures for diving.
On Boats
Our boats are equipped with VHF radios, linking them to the official Search & Rescue
operation, in order to take the proper measures according to the emergency plan
we have established. In addition to the VHF you will find on the boats an emergency
first aid kit and oxygen cylinder. Our guides undergo a rescue drill twice a year
to keep their rescue and EFR skills at the highest level.
Diving
No matter your diving level, before going on a diving trip you will do a check dive
off the house reef or from one of our local dive boats. The check dive is to ensure
your mastering of the basic diving skills and to make sure you are weighted correctly.
Our guides will always give you a thorough briefing before all dives, in which they
will limit you to non-decompression dives and a maximum depth of 30 metres, as ruled
by Egyptian law.

Medical Restrictions
As with all diving you need to be reasonably fit and injury and ailment free. Diving
here can be as strenuous or laid back as you wish so you can have some fantastic
diving without having to be an Olympic athlete.
Should you have a prevailing medical condition that causes you concern do discuss
this with your instructor or guide. They have the training and experience to give
you the right advice or direct you to one of many medical resources and facilities
we have in the area.
For most this area will be considerably warmer than their homeland and dehydration
is a common ailment. Very low humidity and warm to hot weather will give you the
need to ensure you drink lots of mineral water to keep your body in balance.
