Fanous reef is an offshore sunken reef which can be dived on either the east or west. From the mooring descend to 7 metres to a sandy bottom interspersed with small coral outcrops, the site gently slopes away to a depth of 25 metres.
Not a high density of fish in the area, relative to other sites in Hurghada but it is s good sight relaxed diving and close study of the marine life.
